Free test for dental unit water lines

In association with Dentisan, Henry Schein Minerva is continuing to offer free tests to identify levels of biofilm present in dental unit water lines thereby highlighting when levels are in excess of the limit of between 100 – 200 cfu/ml stipulated in HTM01-05.

The tests, available for practices throughout the UK, are carried out by Henry Schein Minerva’s field sales consultant using the 3M Clean Trace™ system, which provides a rapid and convenient on-site assessment that measures ATP, (a protein present in bacteria) in both input and output water.

If levels of biofilm exceed the limit, practices can use Bioclear, - a proven remedy for contaminated water lines. This simple, once-a week treatment is easy to apply and requires no mixing. The liquid is simply poured into the chair’s water bottle, drawn through to fill the water lines and left for a minimum of 12 hours.

Bioclear is water based, odourless, alcohol free and pH neutral and is available in 200ml single-dose bottles; enough to treat a single chair for a week.

On-going, weekly use of Bioclear has proven efficacy against the bacteria that make up biofilm, inhibiting re-growth of the film and enabling the maintenance of water quality within the limits prescribed in HTM01-05, ensuring complete peace-of-mind for Principals and Practice Managers.
